Hans and I went for lunch today at Hot Dogs Pancho Villa, we were both running errands downtown and I had been wanting to try this place. We easily found a parking space on Constituyentes right in front of the restaurant and walked over, where we were quickly greeted by a young guy that was more than willing to help us. The hot dogs they served us were huge, probably footlong, and they have an ample supply of things to put on top.

The dogs are just boiled, not fried with ham or bacon like I have found in many places around Mexico, but a simple boiled hotdog is more what I was looking for today. Hans tried his Pancho Villa hotdog with just catchup, I guess he didn’t want to try anything fancy. You really can’t go wrong with catchup. I ordered mine with catchup, mustard, mayo, onion, and pickle relish, I like stuff on my dogs. The kid serving the hotdogs really wanted to load on the condiments, I had to give pretty specific directions in order to get more hotdog than topping.

I was pretty pleased with the outcome of the hotdogs, they were nice and tender, not overdone. They were also a good temperature, not too hot, not too cold. We both ordered our meals with a Fanta. There is really not much else I can say about a hotdog stand, I would eat there again if it was convienient, though I don’t know if I am ever going to say to myself, “I really need a Pancho Villa hotdog.”

Hot Dogs Pancho Villa is located on Constituyentes between 5th and 10th, next to A’Cacoa. The prices there are more or less what you would expect for a business downtown, we paid $30 pesos each hotdog and $20 pesos for drinks.
